Tucked away in the heart of Northeast Arkansas lies a hidden gem: Jamestown Crag.
This story begins in the 90s when daring climbers, defying boundaries, explored the Atoka sandstone bluffs, ultimately trespassing on logging territory owned by a timber company. A paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, this remote haven remained a cherished secret until 2013. While clear-cutting the surrounding tract of pine, the timber company recognized the liability and looked to restrict access entirely. Enter the Christopher brothers, Nathan, Aaron, and Kyle, who embarked on a mission to ensure Jamestown Crag's preservation. Their vision was simple: to purchase and manage the property, not as a commercial venture, but as a labor of love for outdoor recreation.
Since being entrusted with the stewardship, the Christophers, along with their friend Landon Downing, collectively known as the “Nomads,” have poured their hearts and resources into maintaining and developing the property. The Nomads developed the 50+ acre area to offer sport climbing, camping, hiking, and biking. They have established miles of multi-use trails and primitive camping sites along with more than 100 bolted climbing routes.
Now, their vision extends beyond themselves.
